10 Weirdest Tips That Are Surprisingly Effective

Are you the kind of person who reads self-help books looking for the most important tips? Or are you the one who offers life-changing quotes and proverbs that inspire many? According to a popular online community, these are ten weird tips that have helped thousands of people.

1. Increased heart rate means risk

The most popular comment admits: “I tell myself that my heart palpitations and racing thoughts are just signs that my body is preparing itself to allow me to do something I didn’t even know I was doing. I used to think these were signs to stop smoking, but it’s actually an incendiary sequence.”

Sometimes you may not want to do something because it makes you nervous or because your heart palpitations prevent you from taking the next step. For example, I skydived on my 21st birthday, but seeing the size and shape of this mini jet made me want to turn around and head home.

However, I’ve already paid and put on my gear, and like a roller coaster, once you sit down, you can’t go anywhere else. So I jumped on a plane, climbed to 11,000 feet, and waited for the cue to fall out of a moving vehicle. I don’t regret a single moment.

2. Pay no attention to fear

“I was absolutely terrified every moment of my life – and I never let that stop me from doing anything I wanted to do,” says artist Georgia O’Keeffe.

Twenty-seven thousand people wrote that fear prevented them from experiencing the best moments of their lives, but when they chose to ignore the fear and get on with the job anyway, they were happy with the result.

3. Beating yourself doesn’t help.

One user quotes the oblivious but shrewd yellow cartoon character Homer Simpson. “Don’t beat yourself up forever. Beat yourself once and then move on.”

If you spend all your time thinking about your mistakes, you are wasting valuable time and experience. You will get confused; accept it and you will be much happier.

4. Peripheral vision exists for a reason.

This tip applies to searching for items in the dark, and if you’ve ever camped out in pitch darkness and needed a flashlight to use the restroom in the middle of the night, this tip applies to you too.

“Use your peripheral vision when looking for something in low light conditions. I read about this in an old WWII manual about air battles at night. It has something to do with how the eyes work. This has helped me many times over the years. To search for things in a darkened room or on the street at night in the field, and not for air combat, ”says one of them.

4. Fail fast

If you’re trying a new hobby or investing in a new part-time job or business, the commenter writes, “Fail fast like your plan might not work, it’s better to know next week than next year.” This way you don’t waste time on a project that won’t work. This does not mean giving up on the dream; failure paves the way to success.

5. Small favors make friendship

When approaching new people, asking for small favors (advice, help, etc.) helps build relationships on a grand scale.

“Make someone like you by asking them for a small favor—not by asking them to do something for them, but by asking them to do something for you. I have no idea why it works, but it works.” This method inspires trust and connection between two people, making them more likely to trust you and want to spend time with you.

6. You draw attention to yourself.

Do you know a friend or family member who chats about how everyone looks at him? Not a teenager experiencing the woes of personal fables, but an adult worried about how society will treat them if they behave in a certain way?

For example, my cousin refuses to behave in a certain way in public for fear that others will comment on her. Spoiler alert, no one cares about you the way you do. So, skate even if you fall a few times, act silly in public and live freely.

7. Five minutes is better than nothing.

Daily exercise is scary if you make it scary. The value of unrealistic standards leads to unrealistic results. If you don’t have an extra hour to exercise, start with five minutes. Then walk around your neighborhood and stretch. Everything is better than nothing.

8. Time doesn’t stop for you

People have strange relationships with time. The same cousin, who does not like to entertain in public, claims that her life is almost over, since she just turned 26 years old. she’s halfway to the grave.

One writes: “Time will pass anyway – if you want to work on getting better at something, achieving a long-term goal, or changing careers or degrees, don’t look at the 2-5 years you think you’ll need. . too old.”

9. Embarrassment exists if you allow it.

Shame, embarrassment, and awkwardness affect everyone, but they only make things awkward if you let them. No one remembers embarrassing or uncomfortable situations unless they are significant.

10. No excuses

Giving justification is itself justification. If you’re late for work, tell me I’m sorry I’m late. You don’t have to give a reason to ease the boss or try to improve the situation. They will ask if the boss needs to explain why you are late.
