There is a monthly fee, but consider it a business expense and use the resources to your advantage. Webinars, live seminars, and the various training opportunities they offer are beyond what you find anywhere else.

Upwork is more of a marketplace than an ad place. Companies list their writing needs on a job board. Then interested freelancers place bets on the job. You place bets based on your experience, knowledge and bets.

There are many applications for each listing (sometimes hundreds), so find a way to make your ad stand out, either by price or by your expertise – show the company how you will do more value than your competitors.
