Selling Music Like an NFT: What All Newbies Should Know

As an artist, you want as many people as possible to hear your music. With the advent of new technology, there are more ways than ever to distribute your music and reach a wider audience.

One way to do this is to sell your music as NFTs.

The likes of 3Lau, Kings of Leon, Jacques Greene, Tory Lanez are all participating. The most startling figure comes from the recent sale of 3Lau, which earned him $11.3 million in an NFT auction.

If you are new to this field, it may be a bit confusing where exactly you should start. That’s why we created this guide to help clear up this confusion!

Creating your music file as NFT

The first step is to create and upload your music.

This step can be done in any audio editing software such as Adobe audition or garage group. You need to download these apps, but if you don’t have manual music editing skills, you can also outsource this step to sites like Fiverr.

When creating music, be sure to use high quality files and make sure that the tracks are labeled accordingly.

Name your audio tracks correctly

You can use several different methods to label audio tracks.

If you want them to be in the order they were recorded, simply name each one after the corresponding take or track number, with no spaces between the letters and numbers.

HINT: There is no hard and fast rule in labeling your music, the key to this practice is better organization and service.

Create high quality files

As far as using high quality files, the last thing you want to do is make the track sound like it’s stuttering or muted. A file with reliable sound quality ensures that the music sounds professional and clear to listeners. It should be easy for potential buyers to listen to your tracks without any problems with recording or playback quality.

Lastly, you also need to include cover art for your album and The cover size must be at least 600 x 800 pixels. But again, if you don’t have the talent for this, consider hiring someone to do it for you.

A warning: DYou need to make sure the music NFTs that you create is your ORIGINAL content and is not taken from anyone else. you don’t want to have copyright infringement issues along the way.

There are several different ways to do this, but we recommend the method BitShares music blockchain. This is because it is a very easy way to market your music as NFTs, and also because it allows for more creative freedom than traditional methods such as record deal deals or crowdfunding campaigns.

There are many different ways to do this, but we highly recommend using social media and online music platforms.

Social media

You can do marketing in a number of ways, including social media channels (eg Twitter, Instagram). You should also make sure to include a link to your NFT so people know how they can buy it.

SoundCloud is a music streaming platform that allows artists to share their music with the world. You can create a profile for your NFT and upload your tracks to be streamed by the SoundCloud user community. To monetize your music, you can subscribe to SoundCloud Pro or Premium subscription plans.

Spotify is a music streaming service that allows users to listen to songs, albums, and playlists for free. To monetize your music on Spotify, you can sign up for the Spotify Affiliate Program.

Forums

Posting your NFT on forums like p/CryptoMusic on Reddit also a great way to talk about it. People in this community are interested in both music and crypto so they are likely to be interested in your NFT as well.

The goal is to get people excited about your new song so they want to buy it when it hits the market!

TIP: We recommend posting on these forums at least once a day until your NFT is up and running. In addition, you can also create a countdown on your social media platforms to keep them excited and looking forward to your launch.

Video clips

Another way to promote your NFT is to create a music video. This method can be a great way to show off your new song and get people interested!

It is important to remember that your music video must be interesting and engaging. You don’t want it to be just a boring recording of you singing into a microphone. Try adding some creative elements and make sure the video tells a story. This will help grab people’s attention and encourage them to watch the entire video.

If you don’t know where to start, there are many online resources that can help you. YouTube is one of the best places to find tutorials on how to create music videos. You can also check out some other websites that offer free tutorials and tips for artists who want to learn more about making their own videos.

You might even consider hiring a professional videographer or editor if you feel overwhelmed by this part of the process, but be aware that this is not the cheapest option.

Distribute your music like NFT

Once you’ve created an NFT asset, it’s time to distribute it!

To do this, you need to use a marketplace, for example Open sea or Rare.

These marketplaces allow users to easily buy and sell digital assets such as NFTs, music tracks, artwork, and more.

Creating an account on one of these platforms is quite simple. You just need to register with your email address and of course your chosen password. (Be sure to save your logins in a safe place to keep your account safe).

Once you’ve created a user account, it’s time to list your NFT assets.

To do this:

  1. You need to upload the file associated with your music track.
  2. Set the price of each asset in ETH (Ethereum) or USDT (Tether), so you need to decide how many assets will be available for sale and what will be the minimum price of your music assets or what they call the INITIAL BET.

Again, it is very important to always do your due diligence and DYOR (do your own research).

After that, you will need an Ethereum wallet to log in so you can transfer funds from your account when someone buys them from OpenSea or Rarible.

The most popular wallets used for this purpose are: Metamask & Trust Walletboth are available on Android and iOS.

Now you are all set and ready to go!

For now, all you as an artist can do is sit back and relax while the NFT market does its job. Because when someone buys your NFT music, the buyer will receive their digital music track via email or a direct download link from OpenSea or Rarible.
