Unfortunately, it can be difficult to ask this question online without all the multi-level marketing (MLM) people trying to sell you their overpriced snake oil. So, here are ten legitimate ways to make money from home.
1. Audiobook Narrator
Someone shared: “Audiobook narrator. You can set up a cheap studio if you have a voice. My wife started a few years ago and works in the right publishing houses. She almost works with the right authors. So proud of her.”
2. Babysitting
“Babysitting is a good job, especially if the children you are looking after are the same age as your children. It gives your kids playmates. The activities and products to be provided to all children will be the same. In addition, it will help your children learn to communicate and get along with other people outside the family,” suggested one of them. “Depending on where you are, three days a week brings in $800 to $1,000 a month.”
3. Buy and sell things
Another suggested buying and selling things online. “There is Etsy, Facebook Marketplace and Amazon. If you’re good at art, draw and then sell. Blogging, book writing, dropshipping, plate sales. Many things”.

4. Art Online Commissions
Someone replied: “If you are satisfied with online art, complete orders. I had to stay at home for a while to take care of my dad while he was recovering from surgery. I had to check on him every thirty minutes to make sure he was okay, so to be honest, I couldn’t leave him alone and I didn’t trust other people to take care of him the best I could.”
“So, on my Twitter, I started ordering art. One of the most popular types is Furry and My Little Pony art. They will spend a LOT on character commission. It kept me going for a while until my father got better.”
5. Transcription

Someone explained, “Working from home with your local cable or telco provider or home shopping network (QVC) is basically answering the phone. This is a legitimate job and is indeed done from home. There’s no boss here, baby.
8. Virtual Assistant
“Virtual assistant jobs are relatively easy to find. You may have to start from the bottom with no experience, but your skills will quickly demand higher pay,” replied another.
9. Sitting and walking dogs
Another legitimate work from home or part-time job is walking and babysitting dogs. Rover.com is a popular platform for finding such opportunities; many have suggested that this is decent money.

10. Sewing or alterations
You can build a reasonably lucrative side business from home if you’re great at sewing or alterations. This is a lost skill for many, and there is always a demand for it.
