If you’re in college and want to start building up your credit score, the options are slim, especially if this is your first credit card.
As a college student, you’ll want to aim for a student credit card that offers the best chance of approval. You won’t need any previous credit history to qualify, but the downside is that student cards won’t offer you tons of rewards, or worse, they won’t bring any rewards at all.
However, last year Capital One changed that by offering two new high-value student cards: the Capital One Quicksilver Student Cash Rewards Credit Card and the Capital One SavorOne Student Cash Rewards Credit Card.
Both cards meet all the requirements students are looking for: no annual fee, high remuneration rate, and no foreign transaction fees (ideal if you plan to study abroad – more on that later).
And the deal gets even sweeter. For the first time since its launch, Capital One is now offering a welcome offer on both cards to new applicants – a $100 cash reward after they spend $100 within the first three months of opening an account.
Keep reading to compare each credit card. We’ll help you decide which is best for you: Capital One Quicksilver for students or Capital One SavorOne for students.
