Joe Biden may face opposition from his own party in 2024

There has been a lot of controversy about whether Joe Biden will be able to run for a second presidential term. While many have weighed his successes and failures and see him as a viable option, many others believe the Democratic Party needs a new face to represent them in 2024.

Disqualification Factors

Age was the most frequently cited reason why Biden should retire in 2024. He is now 80 years old, by the time he takes office again he will be 82 years old, and when his term ends he will be 86 years old.

Biden’s consistently low approval ratings also played a role. When he took office, he took on many issues, including high inflation and Covid-19. The fact that he was saddled with these problems at the beginning of his presidency did nothing to affect his approval ratings.

Biden has yet to officially announce his intention to run in 2024. He previously stated that he would discuss the decision with his family over the holidays and make an announcement at the start of the year.

Biden declined to say whether he and his family had made the decision. When a reporter asked him if he had had a discussion with them, he quipped, “Is the election coming up?”

Come pretenders

Mike Huckabee, the former governor of Arkansas, said he thinks Biden will face tough competition in the 2024 primary.

“He won’t have a solo run on this one,” he said. “There will be other Democrats. Gavin Newsom, perhaps a few more moderate governors will intervene. But he won’t have a scene alone. Because I think many Democrats understand that, first of all, he is already 80 years old. By the time of the election, he will be 82 years old. This is unprecedented. This is not an older bowl. This is the hardest job in the world. He has already shown that he may not be quite ready for this. “Will he run? Probably. But will he run unhindered in the Democratic primary? Absolutely not.”

California Gov. Gavin Newsom is a candidate Biden will have to keep a close eye on. Newsom retained power and popularity in his state despite an unsuccessful recall attempt.

However, Newsom remains adamant that he has no plans to run in 2024. However, other contenders are likely to emerge, and Huckabee is correct in his thought that Biden will not have an easy path to the White House.
