Newspaper (new and improved)
I don’t know why, but one of my favorite things to do on vacation is to sit at the kitchen table with a cup of hot coffee and leaf through the newspaper.
Of course, as a millennial I certainly don’t subscribe to the newspaper at home – what an archaic idea! Articles written in paper about what happened yesterday? These stories have already appeared and disappeared on Twitter.
What I really need is a new and improved digital newspaper – something that will keep me updated on current events, but without the hassle and easy to digest after a few minutes a day.

What is Morning Beer?
Introducing Morning Brew, a new newspaper invention for the millennial generation.
It was started by 2 business students from the University of Michigan who wanted to provide young professionals a better way to keep up with the latest business news than trying to read. Wall Street Magazine fully.
One of the standout Morning Brew traits that is lacking in many other news sources is the humor and wit in the writing style. Not only do you get your daily dose of news, but you also have fun at the same time.
It is also full of interesting facts and trivia that are used in the newsletter. For example, on World Population Day (which falls on July 11, who knew?) I learned that roughly 7% of all people who were ever born are alive right now (7.7 billion out of 108 billion).

At the bottom is a section titled What else is cooking? this gives a rundown of the main news headlines you need to know:
While Morning Brew offers short titles and comments in its newsletter, if you are particularly interested in the topic, there are many links to in-depth research and other articles from reliable sources.
Can you really “get smarter in 5 minutes”?
Morning Brew slogan – Get smarter in 5 minutes – summarizes the purpose of the daily newsletter. But is he keeping his promise?
In my opinion, yes. Where Morning Brew excels is in cutting through the clutter and providing concise, witty commentary on the latest business and financial news.
Other news sources (names are hidden to protect those responsible) tend to focus on one area too short-sightedly or too broadly on too many topics.
The Morning Brew draws a fine line between writing engaging pop culture content while focusing on what readers care about – business, finance and economics.

No one wants to be the last in the office to hear about the main trends in the industry (or, as one of my colleagues once happened, that the company you work for announced a merger, which was written about in all the news).

Even after making fun of the seriousness of the world around us, Morning Brew’s writers remain poised in their reporting.
When a topic has a political bias, in my experience, they try to give equal weight to each side and stick to “just the facts, ma’am.”
For example, a recent excerpt tells of a tense meeting between the president and the chairman of the Federal Reserve. Injecting humor into a rather serious topic, they accurately conveyed the views of both sides, without offering opinions on who is right and who is wrong (from which other news outlets could learn a lesson).
Who Owns Morning Brew?
Morning Brew was founded by two college students – Alex Lieberman and Austin Rafe – frustrated by the lack of interesting business and financial content for the younger generation.
Alex quit his job at an investment bank to pursue a full-time job at Morning Brew as CEO.
Should you subscribe to Morning Brew?
Morning Brew is aimed at young professionals who want to keep abreast of the latest business news and world events. If this is you, you should definitely give it a try.

In less than a year, Morning Brew’s subscribers have grown from 200,000 to over 1,000,000. They know their audience clearly and, in my opinion, have done a great job of keeping the content up to date since I first signed up.
